Crown Emoji 👑

Crown emoji may denote a crown or anything that is connected with it. It can be a symbol of royal power or its owner (a king or a queen). However, it's doesn't always mean crown-like headwear. This emoji refers to any monarch (like Khan Mongol or Egyptian pharaoh). As we know, the idea of emphasizing your high status with luxurious clothes is not new. However, head embellishment has always played the most significant role in it. A halo of feathers, plumage, a top hat. The person with the highest status was always supposed to wear the most elegant hat. Crowns were made by the best jewelers, who decorated them with lots of gems. Apart from that, nowadays this emoji is especially popular due to COVID-19, or coronavirus pandemic. It's often used with virus emoji or other symbols connected to disease.

The symbol “Crown” is included in the “Clothing and accessories” subblock of the “Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictographs” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 6.0 in 2010. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Clothing” subcategory of the “Objects” category.
