Emoji Meaning
A person, pressing their hand against the face, demonstrating the so-called “facepalm” gesture. An expression of severe disappointment with somebody's behaviour. Shame or embarrassment.
The symbol “Person Facepalming” is included in the “Emoticon faces” subblock of the “Supplemental Symbols and Pictographs” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 9.0 in 2016. In 2016, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 3.0 and added to the “Person Gesture” subcategory of the “People & Body” category.
