Emoji Meaning

The no entry symbol restricts movement in a given area. It is a traffic sign from the ARIB STD B24 data coding and transmission standard for digital broadcasting.

The symbol “No Entry” is included in the “Traffic signs from ARIB STD B24” subblock of the “Miscellaneous Symbols” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 5.2 in 2009. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Warning” subcategory of the “Symbols” category.
