Emoji Meaning
Om symbol, as commonly used in Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism. Om (sanscrit ॐ) is the highest sacred sound in Hindu and Vedic traditions. Repeated as a mantra, it has a powerful effect on the person who's praying. It tends to be interpreted as the divine triad symbol of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
The symbol “Om” is included in the “Religious symbols” subblock of the “Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictographs” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 7.0 in 2014. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Religion” subcategory of the “Symbols” category.
