Extension includes 150,000+ Unicode characters: emoji, letters, ideographs, and scripts from around the world, plus math and technical symbols, currency symbols, arrows, punctuation, typographic marks, and thousands of other special characters.
SYMBL is for anyone who needs characters they don’t have on their keyboard—designers, editors, developers, students, and anyone formatting documents, emails, and social media posts.
How to use
- Open SYMBL from the Chrome extensions menu.
- Search by a character name or code, or browse the collections to find what you need.
- Click a character to copy it to your clipboard.
- Paste it anywhere using Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
Pin SYMBL to the Chrome toolbar to open it in one click.
Key features
- Smart search: find characters by name, keywords, synonyms, and code (for example, “heart” or “U+2764”) across a database of 150,000+ Unicode characters. Results appear instantly as you type.
- Quick copy: click a character — it’s copied to your clipboard.
- Copy history: copied characters are saved in a separate tab for quick reuse.
- Add symbols to your text: Copied symbols are automatically added to the built-in text field. Combine several symbols, or enter your own text and add symbols and emoji, then copy everything at once.
- Character collections: hearts, checkmarks, arrows, math, stars, quotes, currency, brackets, bullets, punctuation, special. Inside collections, characters are grouped into subcategories.
- Emoji by category: all emoji are available in a separate tab and organized into groups you can quickly switch between: Smileys & Emotion, People & Body, Animals & Nature, Food & Drink, Activities, Travel & Places, Objects, Symbols, and Flags.
- Character names: hover over a character to see its name in the selected language.
- Multilingual UI and search: English, Deutsch, Spanish, French, Italian and 7 more languages.
- Up to date with Unicode: the database updates as new versions are released.
