Emoji Meaning
A link symbol, which is basically two linked chain parts, placed at a 45-degree angle. This image functions as a hyperlink icon on the Internet. In addition, it may suggest a smartphone being applied as a modem. Metaphorically speaking, it also represents various kinds of connections and relations.
The symbol “Link” is included in the “User interface symbols” subblock of the “Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictographs” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 6.0 in 2010. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Tool” subcategory of the “Objects” category.
