Emoji Meaning
Peace symbol was created for the British movement, which called for nuclear disarmament. By the end of the sixties, Pacifik became an international symbol of the opponents of the war.
The peace sign itself is a combination of the semaphore signals N and D — the first letters in the nuclear disarmament phrase.
Except for the pacific sign, pigeon can serve as peace symbol.
The symbol “Peace Symbol” is included in the “Religious and political symbols” subblock of the “Miscellaneous Symbols” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 1.1 in 1993. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Religion” subcategory of the “Symbols” category.
