The symbol “Minus” is included in the “Heavy variants of arithmetic symbols” subblock of the “Dingbats” block and was approved as part of Unicode version 6.0 in 2010. In 2015, it was also approved as an Emoji in version 1.0 and added to the “Math” subcategory of the “Symbols” category.
