Smiles are schematic drawings of a human's face. As a rule, they are round, yellow and they don't have a nose. Such an image appeared long before you copied your first emoji — more than half a century ago.

The smile's eyes and mouth take various shapes to express feelings, emotions, and conditions. Sometimes it's hard to read some particular face expressions of a smile. That's why we have added a description for each emoji on its page.

Emojis have clear advantages when it comes to comparing them with alphabetical symbols. In order to start texting, you don't need to study boring letters or ways of turning them into words.
