The Mundari people live in the state of Jharkhand in eastern India and speak the Mundari language. In 1980, an alphabet known as Mundari Bani was developed specifically for this language. In Unicode, it is named after its creator: Rohidas Singh Nag.

The Nagri alphabet belongs to the consonant-vowel type. The text is read from left to right, and European punctuation is used.

In addition to the letters, the block also encodes a set of original numeral symbols. It also includes five marks to indicate nasalization, vowel length, or sounds from other languages.
