To insert a special character in HTML, you can use its entity — alphanumeric value. As HTML-code, it begins with hash U+0023: Hash Sign and ends with semicolon ; .

How to insert special symbols in HTML
Example 1. Display HTML-code on your web page
All the tags in HTML-code have angle-brackets < > ,
<img src="/i/image.png" alt="Image">
To make browser read it as text and not as HTML-code, you need to use < and > instead of angle-brackets:
