Description
The Cypriot or Cypriote syllabary is descended from the Cypro-Minoan syllabary. It was used in Iron Age Cyprus, from about VIII to III centuries B.C. It was discontinued when Koine Greek became more popular on the island tanks to a Ptolemaic possession.
